The mission of Lone Oak United Methodist Church is to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through Prayer, Worship, Study, Witness, and Service. We invite all persons to join us on this journey.

Our front entrance is off the Lone Oak Road/Highway 45 four lane just past Milner and Orr Funeral home on the lelft toward Mayfield.

Lone Oak United Methodist Church dates its beginning to September, 1905. Rev. T.J. Owen was pastor. The charter membership was sixteen. The newly organized church met for some time at the Western Kentucky College with weekly Sunday School and a monthly worship service.

In 1908 a one room church was built. Rev. W.J. Naylor was pastor.

On Easter Sunday, 1952 the Lone Oak congregation held its first worship service at a new location on South Friendship. The congregation resided at that location until February of 1999 when it relocated to its present location. Dr. Rick Dye was pastor at the time of relocation.

The major reason for this relocation was to provide an accessible worship center that would be both attractive and practical.

Lone Oak UMC celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005. To quote from the pictoral directory for that celebration:

This church is not stone, mortar, wood and glass, but the people who worship, work and support the ministry that takes place within and without the walls of the physical building called Lone Oak United Methodist Church.

Lone Oak United Methodist Church has developed a compassionate spirit that actively supports missionary efforts and mission work, locally and world-wide. The members of the Lone Oak congregation value questions and faithful searching in order to grow a discipleship that is theologically sound and spiritually passionate.
